Bianchi Infinito CV 2014: The most comfortable bike you will ever ride.

There has been a lot of hype about the 2014 Infinito CV since it was first unveiled at this year’s cobbled classics. Vacansoleil’s Juan Antonio Flecha rode it to 8th place in the Paris Roubaix and claimed it was the best bike he had ever ridden in the classics. Of course, he would say that wouldn’t he – it’s the team bike. But having ridden one down the roughest roads I could find, I have to agree with him. It is simply the most …

Congratulations Lisa Jacobs – National Cyclocross Champion

News, Story. Comments Off on Congratulations Lisa Jacobs – National Cyclocross Champion

14th August

Last weekend Melbourne hosted Australia’s first ever National title for Cyclocross and the fifth and final event in the Cyclocross National Series. Series leader Paul Van der Ploeg and Rowena Fry were joined by a number of former Australian national champions from years gone by with Alan Iacoune, Sid Taberlay, Andy Blair, Katherine O’Shea and Tory Thomas.

The week leading up to the event saw Melbourne dish out its finest mix of bitterly cold wind, heavy rain, some sun, followed by more rain. This left the course along the banks of the Maribyrnong river in Melbourne’s inner Western suburbs nicely water logged and perfect for Cyclocross racing.

The course was ultimately a test of the strongest athlete with a hilly track with muddy off camber corners dotted with high barriers leaving competitors with little option but to dismount, shoulder their …

Bianchi road and mountain bikes 2014 – first look

For 2014, 80 percent of the Bianchi road range will be new, as will 70 percent of their mountain bike line, with all bikes designed and developed in Italy. Pricing is to be confirmed.

There was a time when Bianchi were global giants in cycling, but things have become very competitive since then, and the Italian company have focused on their history, high performance products and innovative technological development to regain ground.

There’s no production line in the Bianchi factory, with just one person building each bike from start to finish. Bianchi say this allows their passion and attention to detail to show through.

BIKE EXCHANGE – JULY 2013

Most cyclists either come from or have a concurrent knowledge of the other two-wheeled sport, motorcycling. It makes it a given then that the name ‘KTM’ is already well known. With a history in motorbikes stretching back nearly eighty years, the Austrian company have been at the forefront of two-wheeled development for a long time.

It’s when “KTM” and “bicycles” are mentioned that some people start to look a little confused. However KTM also have a rich history in bikes, with their cyclocross frames being ridden to Austrian National title victories in the 1970’s. Expanding in to mountain bikes in the 90’s and of recent times in to carbon fibre road bikes.

One of their latest offerings …
